Congratulations Closed Circle from Book View Café .

We at Book View Café are excited for you Lynn, CJ, and Jane in your new Internet endeavor! There’s a lot to take advantage of in the Internet world and a lot of wonderful places to go. And now there’s one more: Closed Circle.

Although BVC has been around just over a year ourselves, we feel like we’re still very much learning the ropes. No day goes by without discovering new possibilities across the breadth of the internet. If it’s not a new ebook reader, it’s a new website willing to help sell our books. New avenues for spreading the word about our site and our writing appear with amazing speed.

We’re excited to hear about your new online experiment and wish you every success. There is no denying that the challenges can be daunting and it can take time and patience to build success.  Internet entities come and go daily. As the webmasters discover just how much work can go into keeping a site vital, they lose faith and energy.  However, it is vital for authors and readers that we all be out in this wider world, sharing our work and our news.

Here’s wishing you patience, determination and success.  We very much look forward to fresh news of your site and work and look forward to helping you celebrate future anniversaries.

I finally got the time to update the flyer. I think it’s a lot better/clearer now. If you’ve already printed from the other file, that’s totally cool.

This file prints just fine at the “fast draft” quality.

Thanks again to all who have offered to put these out at conventions, on campus, or anyplace else that’s legal! Another thing that would be really helpful, now we’re actually getting underway, is if people could send us the contact information for conventions…around the world! We’d like to put some ads in program books.

2010flyer600 Some of you have generously offered to print and put out a few fliers for CC at conventions. We can’t thank you enough. Here’s the link. It will remain available on the “freebies” page under the catalog.

This file should print fine at the “fast draft” quality.

And links have been sent to all those who have purchased the files. There’s been some minor cleanup, but mostly these include improved formatting for TXT, RTF and PDF. We’ve also added full justification. We’re not sure how that’s going to read on the flowable type on small devices, so please let us know what you think.

Oh…and by the time you read this, the “freebie” page s/b set up under the catalog section. That’s where we’ll put free downloads and other free goodies as we think of them.

We keep learning as we go along. There was some annoying hidden code in the scanned material we used for these two books. That has been cleared out, but that’s not all. We’ve reformatted the PDF so the covers “fit” the format and it’s justified on both sides and sized to simulate a HC….Guess that about covers it. Oh…and I took the spaces out of the RTF files.

For those who have already purchased the books, you should have received an email containing new links to the downloads. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I’m hoping the new improved editions will make up for it.

As always, thanks for supporting us!

From CJ Cherryh: Two outstanding novels from the earliest days of her Alliance/Union universe. Includes the birth of the rider ships, Earth politics, and so much more. In  the blurbs, CJ suggests you read Downbelow Station first , but that’s definitely not necessary to thoroughly enjoy the books.  Knowing a bit about her A-U universe, however, will definitely make some of the bits of business that much tastier. (I’d say sweeter, but sweet doesn’t really apply to this series!) Covers designed by CJ and carried to fruition by Jane.

Heavy Time
Initial book of the Alliance-Union Universe, followed by Hellburner. Actually best to read Downbelow Station first, though it comes later. These are the books of the Company Wars, the foundation piece for the whole Alliance-Union Universe.
